Fall Fun Part One

The first day we dropped G & Wy off at Wednesday school, Wade and I had a lovely, quiet walk around the lake. He picked flowers and gave them to me.

We bought our house in September! First on the list of things to do: rip up the carpet in the bathroom!

The boys and I enjoyed the step back in history at a reenactment of the colonial time period. The boys got to work with wood and dip candles. We saw a war reenactment, saw "George Washington" speak, and bought them toy guns.

Lighting the candles when we got home.

We picked up Grandma the next day or so! It was great having her and Grandpa visit. We worked like crazy on our new food blog, went to Smashburger, took walks, visited 5 Mile Park, and went on the Georgetown Loop Railroad...

Fun times at Applebee's after picking Gpa up from the airport.

Mom made Wyatt a special cake for his 6th birthday! It was wonderful having them here to help celebrate.

Wyatt was thrilled with his new skates!

We watched Garrett at soccer practice.

Field Trips and other fun

Garrett's closet is now a "laboratory" with all kinds of timers, cords, box inventions, and fans...

Wade loves washing his little kitchen items in the sink (on the rare occasions it's empty and I have cleaned it!)

We took a field trip to the Rocky Mountain Bird Observatory and really enjoyed seeing how they band birds and catch them to record information before the birds are off again on their trip south.

Wyatt found a caterpillar.

Garrett writing about the experience on a post card.

The boys very happy to be there, standing next to some animal wood sculptures.

Wyatt is doing a great job reading! He is almost through with the Hooked on Phonics Kindergarten level workbooks!

This is what Wyatt loves to do when he unloads the dishwasher unbreakable items...He balances them and stacks them as crazily as he can!

Yay! Daddy's home!

A huge "guy pile." :)

One of our walks around the lake for a nature walk...

Drawing/writing about things they see.

Wade making a nice drawing.

Wyatt tracing his letters (and doing a little extra shenanigans...)

We took a field trip to Dinosaur Ridge to see dinosaur footprints. A creationist led it and did a great job!

In the picture below, the black marks on the stone are dinosaur footprints!
