Winter Snaps

Alright, it has been awhile and I want to get these pictures on the blog! Here are some happenings this winter...

 

Wyatt and I had fun cutting and juicing the limes Grammy & Poppa gave us at Christmas.

 

 

Wyatt has been going through Hooked on Phonics and doing well reading Kindergarten level words! (He likes to be silly and look at the words really really close...)

I joined the guys on their weekly Costco run and had to get a shot for posterity's sake of every boy in the cart together - this won't last long! They chat with the sample ladies and guys and are well-known. Jim has them say thank you after each sample, which everyone loves, of course. :)

 

I've been working on my new blog for the website, and Wyatt and Wade were good little tasters of the Carrot Cake Muffins.

 

Wade is really growing up! He loves to help, in fact Jim and I joke that he's our "little butler." He is always willing to set the table, and that is what he is doing here.

 

 

As part of our 1st grade curriculum, we had a Sabbath exercise to learn what the Jews in the Old Testament did every week. Jim went around and gave each child and me a blessing, and we had bread and grape juice added to our meal, reminding us that the rules God gave the Israelites pointed to Christ, whose body (bread) and blood (wine or grape juice) were given for us. It was really meaningful!

The boys are so sweet - they make heart shaped hands for me and say, "I (heart) you."

 

And this one is just too cute to leave out!

 

We enjoyed getting to go to the Denver Stock Show through Garrett's Wednesday school! It was so fun to see baby animals, experience a petting zoo, and see a sheep being shorn! I was surprised by how out of shape I was and how terrible I felt after getting home. It involved a LOT of walking and carrying Wade intermittently, and it was the first big thing I did after the surgery.

 

We're here, and excited to get going!

We saw how many pennies it takes to sink a tin foil boat. Thankfully the weather was very mild for a lot of January and February!

 

I had to get this shot of sweet Wade taking a nap, surrounded by his stuffed animals, especially his precious kitty.

 

The guest room was packed with baby/kid items to sell at a garage sale! We had a fabulous Saturday in the 60's and had our sale.

 

It was a great success! Here is everything lined up early in the morning. (Bins of clothes lining the entire driveway!) Most was sold by 2pm.

 

 

Wyatt and Wade have been little buddies more lately. It's fun to see them run off and play like Garrett and Wyatt used to do at that age.

 

Only at homeschool can you eat your lunch with Penguin, Kitty, and Pooh Bear at the table. ;-)

Wyatt and Wade have been wrapping "presents" up for me in towels and sheets, including themselves at times and pop out as Kitties that need to be named and need a home. :)

 

When we told the boys we might be able to buy the house we're in, they immediately started drawing up plans for their clubhouse.

 

 

It has a heating duct from the house to the clubhouse, a room for Garrett and one for Wyatt, a swamp cooler attached to the outside, and a ladder up to the roof with a chair, umbrella, and telescope set up.

 

Wyatt has been creating a lot of things, and this was a hat. :)

 

The boys love to drag chairs into a "Kitty Cage." Here everyone was sick so they are sucking on honey tea.

Wade used one of his dollars to buy DADDY a balloon. He was SO excited to give it to Jim!

 

And....ALL the boys are having swimming lessons - even Wade! This was Wade's first day. It's cute to watch him try to figure out what to do and how to listen to the teacher. On the 3rd time he was more with it and jumping around and excited. I have to admit it's nice to just sit there and watch all 3 of them in lessons!
